


Mad Scientist – A New Science Skill v1.0
Mad Scientist is a new Tier 3 (Expert) Science skill that gives a variety of wild effects to Laser, Particle Beam and EM weapons. It is completely new and compatible with anything.
RANK 1
Laser, particle beam, and EM weapons have 50% increased magazine size.
RANK 2
Laser, particle beam, and EM weapons have a 5% chance to electrocute and stun an enemy, but they are equally likely to fire with wild inaccuracy while aiming.
RANK 3
Laser, particle beam, and EM weapons weigh 50% less and have double magazine size.
RANK 4
Laser, particle beam, and EM weapons have a 20% chance to fire two extra projectiles, but with a 10% risk of firing a dead round which deals minuscule damage.
CHALLENGE 1
Deal 1500 damage with laser, particle beam or EM weapons.
CHALLENGE 2
Deal 3000 damage with laser, particle beam or EM weapons.
CHALLENGE 3
Deal 5000 damage with laser, particle beam or EM weapons.
Mad Scientist can be found on Tier 3 (Expert tier) of the Science skill tree. It provides more positives than negatives, but it’s up to the player to decide whether the tradeoffs are worth it. This skill doesn’t apply to Tool Grip weapons, like the Welder and Cutter. It uses the icon of Weapon Engineering.
This skill is compatible with all other mods. I’m slightly biased but I would recommend pairing it with my skill overhaul – Valiant.
As a note for Singularity users, this mod will be added to that in due time. Your progression will not carry over from this version to the updated Singularity.
