Scope Improvements – SI

Increases scope zooms and adds missing scopes to all appropriate weapons. Also adds the cut Equinox Iron Sights, and makes some improvements too. Scopes have struck me as set up a little weirdly, with most weapons having a limited selection that makes them not very flexible, and then the Short Scopes zoom in so little that they don’t offer much over Reflex Sights. And despite requiring a high level of research, Recon Scopes just don’t zoom in as much as they should, and that zoom is inconsistent between weapons too.

So, I decided that I’d fix all of that. I’ve added Short, Medium and Long Scopes to all weapons with scopes that were missing them, and I’ve added Recon Scopes for each zoom level, to make them more usable. I’ve also unified and increased the zoom level for scopes, so Short will always be 4x, Medium will be 6x, and Long will be 8x. Short Scopes finally feel more distinct from Reflex Sights. Alongside, Recon Scopes have been changed to be Short Recon Scopes, as most of their zoom levels were close enough to those.

All weapons other than the Hard Target and MagSniper have had Long Scopes added, and all weapons have had Medium and Long Recon Scopes added. This also means that the Old Earth Hunting Rifle can have its scope modified now too. The recipes for Short Recon Scopes have been adjusted to make them available with at a lower level of research to account for the Medium and Long Recon Scopes, and the crafting requirements are hopefully suitable for that too. Their descriptions now say how much they zoom as well.

Along with all of that, I’ve also added the cut Equinox Iron Sights, that exists in the files but wasn’t implemented, and made a number of improvements to other sights as well. Those other changes are as follows:

Coachman, Orion – Iron Sights
– Made description consistent with all other iron sights

Coachman, Razorback – Iron Sights
– Now use the appropriate Template, which primarily provides them with dynamic naming for Iron Sights (if a mod were to be set up for that)

Beowulf, Orion – Medium Scope
– Removed properties that were inconsistent with all other scopes

Beowulf – Short Scope
– Changed scope model to match Medium Scope, to have the other scope model be for Recon Scopes, to match other weapon scopes

Beowulf, Maelstrom, MagSniper, Old Earth Hunting Rifle, Razorback – All Scopes
– Hopefully fixed instances where the shot comes from above the scope when zoomed in

Drum Beat – Short and Recon Scope
– Swapped scope models to match other weapon scopes

Eon – Glow Sights
– Made description consistent with all other glow sights

Equinox, Solstice – Reflex Sight
– Made description consistent with all other reflex sights

Hard Target – Reflex Sight
– Removed property that was inconsistent with all other reflex sights

Hard Target, Va’Ruun Infictor – Reflex Sights
– Removed zoom to be consistent with all other reflex sights

Negotiator – All Sights
– Fixed incorrect keyword on crafting recipes

Orion – Short Scope
– Fixed zoom setting that was inconsistent with Short Recon Scope

Razorback, Tombstone – Short Recon Scope
– Added missing keyword

Razorback – Short and Recon Scope
– Corrected how the Templates are included

Solstice – Holographic Sight
– Made easier to craft, as its statistically no different from the Reflex Sight, so doesn’t need to be harder to craft

Tombstone – Short Scope
– Removed property that was inconsistent with all other scopes
– Fixed zoom setting that was inconsistent with Short Recon Scope

Urban Eagle – Short Scope
– Removed property that was inconsistent with all other scopes, and correct how the Template is included

Va’Ruun Inflctor – Short Recon Scope
– Fixed zoom setting that aws inconsistent with Short Scope

XM-2311 – Red Dot Sight
– Renamed to Reflex Sight to match other weapons (the sight wasn’t red to begin with, anyway)
– Made description consistent with all other reflex sights
– Altered crafting requirements to match all other reflex sights

Short Recon Scope Template
– Increases accuracy like the Short Scope does

Medium Scope Template
– Value increased in line with Short and Long Scopes

Long Scope Template
– Lowered accuracy somewhat to make it more in line with Short and Medium Scopes
