Description
This mod replaces Starfield’s default jail system with a fully scripted prison system that gives you more control and a more consistent experience across factions.
Instead of being instantly processed by the vanilla system, being arrested will send you to a real prison cell where you serve your sentence over time. Sentences scale based on your bounty, and each major faction routes you to its own jail location.
When you are arrested:
Your gear is confiscated and stored in an evidence container You are given prison scrubs while serving your time Your sentence is calculated based on your current bounty You are placed in a proper jail cell depending on the faction
While serving time:
Time passes naturally or through waiting/sleeping
Jail doors are reset and locked each time you are arrested
On release:
Your sentence is completed based on time served Your bounty is cleared Your belongings are returned Prison clothing is removed
Stolen items and contraband are handled through the vanilla system to avoid item loss or ownership bugs. The mod also silently refunds any credits removed during processing so jail time replaces paying a fine.

Notes
This mod hooks into the guard arrest dialogue and overrides the “Go to Jail” option. Other options like paying fines or resisting arrest are untouched.
