(Read Warning) 200 years before the events of FireFly, there was FireField. 5 systems, Dozens of Earths, Hundreds of planets. This simply adds the systems and worlds, no new quests, ships, critters, etc. Perhaps a base for others to build upon?
Warning
This pushes right up against the engine limits. On xBox specifically people have reported that along with shattered space and a couple other added mod systems things start to break! There’s also a bug where map markers persist in system view. Consider this more of a base for modders / something to explore rather than complete mod for the moment
This mod brings the Firefly ‘Verse into Starfield as FireField. Primarily based on The Verse in Numbers (v2.1, archive.org pdf), adapted where necessary to play nice with Starfield’s engine limits.
*New* Planet ‘Types’
– To convey the state of the ‘Verse by 2330, and help with game play a bit, I’ve added a handful of custom UI planet ‘Type’ keywords.
Helioformed
– Gas giants / brown dwarfs that were artificially ignited prior to 2330.
– These are similar to standard gas giants and must be surveyed for completion.
Terraformed
– Worlds fully terraformed before 2330.
– Human POIs present.
– Eligible for base-game radiant quests and encounters.
– Oxygen atmospheres and habitable environments.
Lithoformed
– Asteroids and planetoids that underwent terraforming.
– Human POIs present.
– Eligible for base-game radiant quests and encounters.
– Often thin atmospheres and weak magnetospheres.
– Expect some solar radiation to leak through.
– Flora and fauna are rare, usually primordial.
Developing
Worlds in the early stages of terraforming as of 2330.
Mixed conditions:
– Some support human habitation.
– Some serve as quest targets.
– Some may host flora and fauna.
– Habitability varies, closer to 2330 tends to be further along.
Base Game Types (Rock, Barren, Asteroid, etc.)
– Worlds terraformed after 2400.
– No permanent human presence.
– Not used for quests.
– Habitability is unlikely, though native flora and fauna may still exist.
All orbital bodies (planets, moons, asteroids):
– Are scannable
– Contain mineable resources
– Can be landed on

I tried to build faithfully on the work put into TVIN, but some compromises were required. Kalidasa in particular pushes the engine close to its 64 body limit (old.reddit link). For this reason, a handful of bodies in the Kalidasa system were left out. All lagrangian clusters (for instance, page ~157, ~3 systems worth of bodies) were left out as well.
This mod only adds the systems and planets, simplicity and zero conflicts in mind. It should be fully compatible with and utilize all base game mechanics. I’ve left it as a Full Master to make is easier to build upon. No requirements besides Starfield.
