FS25 HONKCORE – Dynamic Custom HUD Overhaul v1.0.1

Configurable HUD for Starfield. New Widgets include ECG heartbeat vitals, tactical radar, CBRN threat display, boot sequence and more. Built on a full framework with visibility conditions, effects and color themes. Use the included defaults, tinker yourself or keep the vanilla HUD. Your suit, your rules.

HONKCORE replaces Starfields HUD with a fully modular, config- and caffeine- powered widget system. Every new element is individually toggleable, positionable and styleable. Maybe even more things that end with able. More than 10 color themes included ranging from pink over blue to sepia and mono. Our custom, state-of-the-art, elements ship with the basic ROM – like an immersive ECG vitals display or a tactical radar. If you want to feel your helmet to feel like actual hardware, take a look! (Note. Display elements may flicker or glitch periodically. Totally not because we scraped the tech off some dead people’s space suits!)

CUSTOM WIDGETS & CONFIGURATION are included! This mod comes with a multitude of custom designed and animated widgets, like the vitals monitor PULSR, the CBRN like TACR display, the radar MAPR or the overhead compass HEADR, but also includes custom meters for health, oxygen or starpower.
Each custom widget – and many of the default HUD elements – can be toggled on or off via an extensive condition system in the configuration. Don’t want something? If its a default widget, set its visible-flag to never. If its a custom one? Throw it out the airlock (remove it from the config). Anything inbetween? Check out the visibility flags&conditions.

Custom widgets include but are not limited to

– ./PULSR// ECG/SpO2 vitals display
Life in the Settled Systems is not a game. There are no “Health Bars” in real life. If ye wanna survive ye better watch yer vitals. Or have them watched. Introducing PULSR. Watch yer vitals as if you still were in that hospital after that one night on Neon… ECG, SpO2, CO2 in one slick display.

– ./MAPR// tactical radar
Encrypted comms? No public transponders? Crimson hull markings half-scraped off, barely visible? Or the UC blue that ye can barely see against the darkness between the stars? Where did that clearance officer go to hide? MAPR knows. A fully autodynamic multiband frequency scanner with abstractive ranging keeps yer surroundings in check! See them enemies, the coolest locations in the galaxy or where ye put yer wallet while you was drunk yesterday. Requires yer eyes to be open.

– ./HEADR// compass display
Some prefer life in a straight line. Ye want the sleek, the fancy and the control. No space wasted. HEADR taps into MAPRs feed and extracts the essentials. Where’s what. Thats it. Slicker than a calm sea at sunset. Simple. Straight. Elegant. Not Elephant.

– ./TACR// CBRN threat readout
The acid clouds on Heisenberg V don’t warn you twice. They’re not your mom. Don’t know if its safe to breathe? Yeah, been there, know that particular toilet in Hopetown. Worry not! TACR will measure the environment quality and warn ye of any danger (excluded, but not limited to yer parents-in-law). Germans call it “Umgebungsgefahrenmehrstoffstrahlungskorrosionsluftpartikelthermaldosimetriemessüberwachungsanzeigesystem”. And then they’re dead. Because that’s how fast you die out there without a TACR. Yup.

– ./HUD INFO WIDGET// Bundled and included. Fully compatible.
This little thing displays more useful information than you can grab credsticks off party-goers in Neon on any average day. It’s so useful that it has its own showroom. Over there. Yes, next to the lady with the “GIV MEH YER TROUSERS” sign. Not employed by us.

– ./BOOST// Jetpack fuel meter

– ./SPECTR// your personal camera operator
Third person view, built entirely from Shape & Label widgets as a framework showcase

– ./SCANR// Scanner overlay

and more, have a looksee at the posted images!

INCLUDED DEFAULT HUD is ready to play and makes use of many new widgets and condition effects while hiding a lot of the base game UI forever. Or until you change that.
It makes use of the custom “suit is powered” flag that indicates whether your suit has power for environmental protection left – and power for the new sensors, readouts and HUD elements. This also removes some HUD elements while not wearing a full suit (though there are exceptions). Using this system is optional. If you don’t want it, change the configuration.

DOCUMENTATION is key. The nature of so many options is complexity, and complexity killed the cat or so they say. To save you this particular trouble, there’s a full documentation available in the optional files. Please download and review your copy of Ducttape & Chewing Gum, Issue 47, today! Free of charge, only 2750CR handling and shipping. Batteries not included.

UPCOMING FEATURES soon* to be blasted into existence include
– Large Fonts Compatibility
– Quick Items Bar (configurable, as you might guess)
– MOD.//API. Allow other mods to register, display and customize the HUD further with their own, custom values. If they want

INSTALLING & CONFLICTS
HONKCORE all is stuffed into the file “hudmenu.gfx” and will conflict with mods that also alter this file and require their version to run.
As this mod is currently a single UI file (and its config files) it leaves no imprint on your savegame.
Currently only touches your HUD. Not the scanner, not the ship HUD. Should not conflict with inventory UI mods.
