Less Spongy Player – Adjustable Player Health

Everytime the player levels up, the player gains a health boost of 20. This mod has various settings for you to choose from and prevent the player becoming a bullet sponge on the higher levels. Keeping gameplay fresh and unpredictable.

What does this mod do?
Introducing the ‘Less Spongy Player’ mod, a game-changer for your gameplay experience. Ever found yourself frustrated by becoming an invincible tank after leveling up? Look no further! With this mod, you’re in control of your character’s destiny.
This mod allows you to choose the rate at which your health increases when you level up. Say goodbye to being an unstoppable juggernaut. You can select from four distinct options: 5, 10, 12 (recommended), or 15 extra health points per level, tailoring your character’s progression to match your preferred playstyle.

This means you stay right in that sweet spot, where the game remains challenging without becoming overly punishing or too easy. Whether you crave intense battles or a more balanced gaming experience, ‘Less Spongy Player’ gives you the freedom to decide how your character evolves. Take control of your destiny and redefine your journey with this mod!

Important
The changes do not apply directly. You have to level up or use something, which changes your stats. So your health gets updated.
If you dont want to wait, you can use two console commands to update your health directly:
player.getav endurance -> This returns a value. For example 1. Use the value below
player.setav endurance 1Then your health value has been updated.

How to install?
The mod comes with 2 files you probably need. One main file and the StarfieldCustom.ini, if you don’t already have one.

Game Folder
Move the content of the main mod folder, the LessSpongyPlayer.txt into your Starfield folder, where your Starfield.exe is located.
Example: X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Starfield
If you are a Vortex user, it should work automatically.

Ini Folder
Move the content of the “LessSpongyPlayer – StarfieldCustom.ini” download, the StarfieldCustom.ini into your X:\Users\yourUserName\Documents\My Games\Starfield folder

Important If you are already using a mod, which comes with a StarfieldCustom.ini make sure you correct the ini file like this.

sStartingConsoleCommand=bat LessSpongyPlayer;

or if you already other similar mods to this installed it can then look like this:

sStartingConsoleCommand=bat LessSpongyPlayer; bat LessSpongyEnemies; fov 100;

If you notice, that some other text files with game changing settings no longer get loaded by the game. Merge all of the commands into one text file and add this one to the command line.

sStartingConsoleCommand=bat myNewAllInOneFile; fov 100;

How to Remove?
Delete the files from the specified folders.
