Steam Unveils the Count of Starfield Achievements
In Bethesda’s much-anticipated RPG, players are set to unlock several Starfield achievements. The exact count of these trophies was previously shrouded in mystery. However, a recent unintended glimpse on Steam has revealed that Starfield will boast 50 achievements at launch, a number surprisingly lower than many had anticipated.
A confidential message directed to the Starfield Beyond Twitter handle brought this to light. Within the message, the Starfield Steam achievement counter clearly mentions the presence of 50 achievements in Starfield. The original screenshot of this revelation was shared with Starfield Beyond.
In a universe boasting over 1000 planets, a plethora of factions to ally with, and a staggering 200,000 lines of dialog, having just 50 achievements seems quite minimal. To put it in perspective, Fallout 4, released in 2015, initially came with 50 achievements, but this number swelled to 84 when factoring in all the subsequent DLC.
Yet, this figure for Starfield is not as unexpected as it appears.
Every Bethesda release, starting with Fallout 3, has debuted with 50 base game achievements. This count usually escalates to 72 or more as new story expansions and DLC get added.
Given the vast expanse and complexity of Starfield compared to other Bethesda games, 50 achievements at its launch might appear conservative. However, inundating players with an excessive number of achievements might not have been the best strategy. Even for the most dedicated players, darting across the universe to clinch every achievement might turn tedious.
But, be prepared for some intense Starfield achievements. The monumental task of visiting or at least cataloging all the 1000+ planets could very well emerge as the most daunting achievement.
